Ultimate Frisbee Team 2026

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport combining aspects of soccer, football, & basketball, played with a flying disc by two teams of 7 players. The game emphasizes a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a flying disc (a.k.a. frisbee).  Players work together as a team to pass the disc down the field to score points in an end-zone.

Ultimate Frisbee is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It’s fun to play; exciting to watch; and encourages camaraderie and sportsmanship. Participation is open to anyone who wants to put the effort forth to learn the sport with a group of other dedicated athletes.

The SLP Ultimate Frisbee HS team will meet three times a week to practice. Practices will teach fundamentals (as well as how to throw a disc) as well as advanced techniques & game strategies. We will schedule games/scrimmages against other area teams & enter a fall tournament. Additionally, if team composition permits, the team will have the option to compete in weekly games in the Minnesota UF Youth League.

Players participating have the opportunity to help shape, mold, continue to grow & to build the program as it moves forward.

Note: As a club team, registrants are not required to reside within the SLP school district boundary.

Equipment: 

• Rubber or molded cleats, turf shoes, or running shoes may be worn. (Football or Soccer Cleats - Best)
• No metal cleats. 
• Hydration Bottle

Transportation: 

• An activity bus is available from Westwood to the SLP HS for middle school students.
• That same activity bus is available then from SLP HS to the Centerview / NSC Fields.

Other:

• August warm-up practices for the season are optional but encouraged & are open to all students grades 7th - 12th to try the sport out

• The team is coed
• Registration ($50) will remain open until September 9th
