SLPHS Private Music Lessons-Saxophone/ClarinetVisual & Performing ArtsSLPHS and SLP Community Ed are proud to partner in the support of private music lessons. Lessons are $30 per half an hour, offered by month in a "pack" of lessons payable in one fee. All lessons will be held in the SLPHS Music Suite. Financial support is available for students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Donate a Lesson Here Saxophone/Clarinet Lessons: Instructor: Kristi Tharp Kristi Tharp holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a public-school band director in Sioux Falls before moving to the Twin Cities, where she has been teaching private lessons for 25 years. Kristi enjoys teaching all levels of musicians, customizing the lesson to the student through practical methods and different musical genres. While learning the intricacies of playing an instrument, and interpreting written music, Kristi focuses on the joy of playing and the fulfillment of achieving progress. Many of her students have been members of Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony, Minnesota Youth Symphony, Minnesota All-State Band, and various honor bands. Schedule: Please select which open lesson schedule you would like. If there are conflicts due to illness, other band commitments, etc. please work with Kristi Tharp/Ross Wolf on schedule adjustments after registering. Refunds will not be given for missed lessons at this time, so please work with the instructor to reschedule another lesson. Young Rembrandts - Drawlandia - Gr K-4Visual & Performing ArtsBack-to-school season is bursting with creativity at YR! During this session, students will explore a fascinating world of characters, patterns, texture and vibrant color. Appetites don’t stand a chance against the realistic Pizza drawing our students will create as they focus on proportion, detail, and shading techniques. Our adorable Baby Sloth will help students practice expression and character design, while our art history portrait of Hiawatha introduces cultural appreciation and portrait composition just in time to celebrate the fall season.
