Lessons are $30 per half an hour, offered by the month in a "pack" of lessons payable in one fee. All lessons will be held in the SLPHS Music Suite. Financial support is available for students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Donate a lesson here Instructor: Chris Allen is a musician and educator based in White Bear Lake, MN. Primarily playing bass and tenor trombones, but also alto trombone, euphonium, and tuba on occasion. He currently performs regularly with The Paper Clips, Mankato Symphony, Century Jazz Ensemble, and Star of the North Jazz Orchestra. Chris holds an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied with Scott Moore and Larry Zimmerman, and studied at the graduate level at the University of Minnesota with Thomas Ashworth. He has taken additional lessons with Andy Chappell (MN Orch), Douglas Wright (MN Orch), Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Canadian Brass), Michael Levine (Dallas Brass), and Henry Charles Smith III. Schedule: Please select which open lesson schedule you would like. If there are conflicts due to illness, other band commitments, etc. please work with Chris Allen/Ross Wolf on schedule adjustments after registering. Donate a Lesson Here Saxophone/Clarinet Lessons: Instructor: Kristi Tharp Kristi Tharp holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a public-school band director in Sioux Falls before moving to the Twin Cities, where she has been teaching private lessons for 25 years. Kristi enjoys teaching all levels of musicians, customizing the lesson to the student through practical methods and different musical genres. While learning the intricacies of playing an instrument, and interpreting written music, Kristi focuses on the joy of playing and the fulfillment of achieving progress. Many of her students have been members of Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony, Minnesota Youth Symphony, Minnesota All-State Band, and various honor bands. Strength and Speed Camp Gr 6-12Athletics, Sports, RecreationPanther Strength & Speed Camp PANTHER WEIGHT ROOM Summer Strength & Speed Camp is the camp for anyone looking to get stronger and faster this summer. Participants will train 3 days a week with SLP coaches. Our program is designed for any athlete to improve agility, speed and strength. Coaching Staff includes; John Stewart – SLP Teacher, Head Football Coach & Weight Room Coordinator; Doug Potthoff – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach; Sara Hale – SLP Teacher, Cross Country Assistant & Co-Head Track Coach; Daulton Olinger – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach. Student Parking PermitAll students must register their vehicle through ONLINE registration to park in the SLPHS student parking lot. All students parking in the lot must have a valid Annual Permit 2025-2026. Permits may be picked up in the main office of SLPHS between 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Bring a copy of your receipt via paper or smart device. Permits must be placed in the lower left (driver side) windshield of the vehicle. Permit must be easily seen from outside the vehicle. Limited parking permits for students who attend on-site for 3 hours or less can pay a reduced fee - verification documentation will need to be provided when picking up permit. Construction Trade/OEC reciprocity permits are available to those students who have purchased a parking permit in the home school. Volleyball - Girls Camp 2026Athletics, Sports, RecreationGrades 3-6: This camp is designed to teach young players the basic skills used in volleyball. We will cover all the primary skills and put the players in playing situations so that they can use the skills they are learning. They will get lots of reps and will have fun as they learn skills and play together! Players should wear a t-shirt, spandex or loose shorts, knee pads, volleyball shoes or other athletic shoes and bring a water bottle. Grades 7-12: This camp is designed to be a high rep and fast paced camp! It is for players going into grades 7-12 who have beginner or advanced volleyball skills and knowledge. We will focus on the development of all volleyball skills throughout the week. Players will also get an opportunity to work on a specific position that they are interested in focusing on. Along with skill work, the players will get lots of playing opportunities each day that will prepare them for fall season!
