Donate a Lesson Here Saxophone/Clarinet Lessons: Instructor: Kristi Tharp Kristi Tharp holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a public-school band director in Sioux Falls before moving to the Twin Cities, where she has been teaching private lessons for 25 years. Kristi enjoys teaching all levels of musicians, customizing the lesson to the student through practical methods and different musical genres. While learning the intricacies of playing an instrument, and interpreting written music, Kristi focuses on the joy of playing and the fulfillment of achieving progress. Many of her students have been members of Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony, Minnesota Youth Symphony, Minnesota All-State Band, and various honor bands. Alexandra graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education. She is passionate about fostering lifelong musicianship, community, and belonging through accessible and joyful music-making experiences. SLPHS PromHS Activities & AthleticsSLPHS 2026 Prom's theme is Mystic Royal Night! Prom will be held at the Hollywood Theater in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 9, 7-11 p.m. Beverages, Snacks and Desserts will be available throughout the evening. Valet Service - All students will utilize the valet service at the door of the Hollywood Theater. Students are only asked to give a tip if they are able. No payment will be needed for the service from students. Non-SLPHS attendees must fill out a PROM Dance Form - 2026 which will need to be approved by admin prior to the event. Form must be returned to Katie Long in the SLPHS main office by DEADLINE: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 no later than 3:00 p.m. All guests need to attend with a current SLPHS 11 or 12 grade student. SPARK Spring Session GR3/4Hobbies, Life Skills, CultureThe After School SPARK program is designed to engage students in Grades 3-4 in no-cost, high-interest enrichment programming that provides opportunities for students to further develop their talents and spark new interests and passions. In this 3-week session, students will register for 1 class each day based on their interests. Students will attend that same class for 3 sessions. Only register for one class per day. To enroll: Select the course you would like to sign up for. Complete the enrollment questionnaire. Click on the shopping cart in the upper right corner of the screen. Although this is a free program, you will need to complete check out. You will receive a confirmation email once it is complete. In this class, students will learn how to plant seeds in soil, create bird feeders, make outdoor decorations, and more! Air-Dry Clay Animals with Hats! -Rum River Art Center Create a cute animal or creature with its very own hat using air-dry clay! Students will choose an animal, pet, or mythical creature they love and bring it to life using air-dry clay - complete with a stylish hat for it to wear! In the first week, students will draw their idea for an animal and matching hat on paper using colored pencils. In the next two weeks, students will use clay to craft their animal and its unique hat. Student Parking PermitAll students must register their vehicle through ONLINE registration to park in the SLPHS student parking lot. All students parking in the lot must have a valid Annual Permit 2024-2025 or a current Trimester Parking Permit, Fall, Winter or Spring. Permits may be picked up in the main office of SLPHS on/after Wednesday, Aug 21 between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Bring a copy of your receipt via paper or smart device. Permits must be placed in the lower left (driver side) windshield of the vehicle. Permit must be easily seen from outside the vehicle. Limited parking permits for students who attend on-site for 3 hours or less can pay a reduced fee - verification documentation will need to be provided when picking up permit. Summer 2026 (19-52 days & Less than 19)Learning Ventures Child CareSummer 2026 and School Year 2026-2027 Registration opens for families on March 2, 2026 at 8:30 am. Children must be in Grades K-6 (SY 2025-2026) to register for Learning Ventures. Families who are currently in the Learning Ventures program will have priority until March 16 to be confirmed in the program. Families may still register for the current 2025-2026 school year program. Learning Ventures Child Care programs provide high quality services that will grow with your child from kindergarten through sixth grade. Our programs provide child care before- and after-school from 6:30 am - 6 pm, at each of the Elementary Schools in the Spring Lake Park School District, with options on most Non-School Days and Summer. Learning Ventures offers flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of your family! Registration Fee: A $25 registration fee is required when your contract is approved and is non-refundable. Summer 2026 - A non-refundable deposit will be required at registration in the amount of $150 for each child approved in the Summer program. Swim Camp - Conditioning and Drills Gr 7-12Athletics, Sports, RecreationSummer Conditioning and Drills - For students entering grades 7-12 in fall 2026 Athletes will participate in conditioning and stroke drills. There will be a focus on conditioning on Mondays and Wednesdays, and athletes will spend practice doing various sets that will help with their overall conditioning. Tuesday and Thursday practices will focus more on drills, and athletes will spend the time learning the proper techniques for stroke mechanics, starts and turns for all four strokes.
