New Stages Workshop 2026 Gr 9-12Visual & Performing ArtsNew Stages workshop Ever wondered what it’s like to act, write, or direct for the stage? Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a total beginner, the New Stages workshop is your chance to build an original production from the ground up. Over the course of a week, you and your peers will write a short script, rehearse the production, and explore the artistic elements of theater. The experience culminates in a live performance for a small audience. We welcome students of all backgrounds, talents, and ability levels.2026-2027 Community Education - Summer -
NewSLPHS Private Music Lessons-Low Brass - SummerVisual & Performing ArtsSLPHS and SLP Community Ed are proud to partner in the support of private music lessons. Lessons are $30 per half an hour, offered by the month in a "pack" of lessons payable in one fee. All lessons will be held in the SLPHS Music Suite. Financial support is available for students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Donate a lesson here Instructor: Chris Allen is a musician and educator based in White Bear Lake, MN. Primarily playing bass and tenor trombones, but also alto trombone, euphonium, and tuba on occasion. He currently performs regularly with The Paper Clips, Mankato Symphony, Century Jazz Ensemble, and Star of the North Jazz Orchestra. Chris holds an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied with Scott Moore and Larry Zimmerman, and studied at the graduate level at the University of Minnesota with Thomas Ashworth. He has taken additional lessons with Andy Chappell (MN Orch), Douglas Wright (MN Orch), Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Canadian Brass), Michael Levine (Dallas Brass), and Henry Charles Smith III. Schedule: Please select which open lesson schedule you would like. If there are conflicts due to illness, other band commitments, etc. please work with Chris Allen/Ross Wolf on schedule adjustments after registering. Refunds will not be given for missed lessons at this time, so please work with the instructor to reschedule another lesson. Woodworking with Youth Enrichment League Gr 4-8Visual & Performing ArtsLearn to measure, cut, sand, paint, and then take home each project you build. Participants will learn how to use basic tools - hammer, nail, screwdriver, measuring tape, t-square, etc. SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY. No power tools will be used. NOTE: Participants should be comfortable using a small saw as well as other hand tools. Wear clothes that can get messy/paint on them.2026-2027 Community Education - Summer
