Park Terrace SPARK Fall Session

The After School SPARK program is designed to engage students in no-cost, high-interest enrichment programming that provides opportunities for students to further develop their talents and spark new interests and passions. In this 3-week session, students will register for 1 class each day based on their interests. Students will attend that same class for 3 sessions. Only register for one class per day.  A snack will be provided at the start of programming each day by Nutrition Services. Busing transportation is available to all students for pick up. *The last day to sign up for a guaranteed spot on the bus route is Tuesday 10/20.*

After completing the registration questionnaire for each class, you must open your cart and complete the checkout. Even though this is a free program, you need to "check out" in order for the enrollment to be processed. You will know it worked when you receive a confirmation email.

Tuesdays 10/27, 11/3, 11/10:

• Soccer Skills (Grades 1-2)
  • Whether you are trying soccer for the first time or wanting to improve your skills, this camp is perfect for you! Students will work on individual ball mastery, passing, and small-sided soccer games.
• Game On! (Grades 2-4)
  • This program is all about fun game play! Students will learn how to play new and classic card and board games while sharpening their game skills, strategies, and practice friendly competition.
• Watercolor Dreamhouses (Grades 3-4)
  • Students will use sharpies, watercolor, and oil pastels to create their dream houses they would want to live in! They can get as creative as they want, and can add in holiday decorations if they decide to. We will draw it as "inside" the house, so students can draw multiple floors and rooms. I've attached an example image as well.
• Build-It Challenges (Grade 3)
  • Students will be faced with a new building challenge each week that will require creativity, flexibility, and fun! Building a sturdy toothpick tower, design a tinfoil boat that holds weight, and create a new invention out of recycled materials.
• Service Club (Grades 2-4)
  • This program is all about giving back to our community, caring for others, and spreading kindness! Students will design greeting cards for community members, create hand warmers for mail carriers, and share words of thanks and encouragement with PT staff members.

Thursdays 10/29, 11/5, 11/12:

• Soccer Skills (Grades 3-4)
  • Whether you are trying soccer for the first time or wanting to improve your skills, this camp is perfect for you! Students will work on individual ball mastery, passing, and small-sided soccer games.
• Scrapbooking (Grades 2-4)
  • Learn Scrapbooking basics and design techniques! All students will receive a small book to fill with their creations. Students will use patterned paper, stickers, fun scissor shapes, and other materials to create a unique layout.
• Dancing Around the World (Grades 2-4)
  • Students will be immersed in the culture of different countries by learning special dances from places all over the world! Learn the history and importance of each dance, then practice the steps to perform it.

  • DASH Sports Ultimate Games gives athletes the chance to run, compete, and have fun with favorites such as Capture the Flag, Kickball, Dodgeball, Tag games, Ultimate Frisbee, Ultimate Football, Sharks & Minnows, Soccer, and more. Along the way, participants build athleticism, teamwork, game skills, and character while learning the values of Respect, Hustle, and Pride.
