College Application Boot Camp 2026 Gr 12
College Application Bootcamp is for all seniors who plan to attend a tech school, 2-year or 4-year college after high school graduation. Day 1 of bootcamp is also for anyone who is simply just undecided about their plans at this time.
This camp is for all seniors but directed to those who have questions about applying to college and would like one-on-one help from counselors and other admissions professionals.
Register for each session/day you would like to attend.
Tuesday, August 4: College Boot Camp for Beginners - 9 am - 2 pm
Are you a senior and still undecided about what to do after high school? This day is for you! Explore your career interests, learn about training or degrees needed, find the colleges that fit and plan out your timeline for applying. Weather college, tech school, direct to work or Military, we will help you choose your path for the future and get you started with what you need to do this year to get there. Guests will join us to help you figure out your senior year path! Things we will cover:
- Finding the Right Fit
- Building your College List
- Getting Organized
- Naviance - why and how?
- Career Exploration
- Common app vs. College specific app
- Application Fees
- Military / Work connections if college isn't for you!

Tuesday, August 11: College Boot Camp, Ready to start! 9 am - 2 pm
Are you a senior who is ready to start applying? You have your list, have started apps and need help staying organized? Need some help getting started on asking for Letters of Recommendation, writing essays? We will help you with all of it! Guests will join to help you with finishing apps and writing your essays. Come ready to go and hopefully, finish a few things too! Things we will cover:
- Building your College List
- Getting Organized
- Naviance - why and how?
- Common app vs. College specific app
- Application Fees
- Essays and Letter of Rec
Schedule:
- 9-11 am - Starting applications and getting organized
- 11am-12pm - Lunch break
- 12pm-2pm - Essays and Letters of Rec
Tuesday, August 18: Financial Aid 101 - For parents and students!
This session will host a student session, involving scholarship information and FAFSA help, plus, exploring financial aid offers once they get them. Then we will follow up with Financial aid for parents! Hosting 2 options for either in-person or virtual attendance!
Times:
- 9am-11am - Financial Aid 101 for Students
- 11am-12pm - Financial Aid 101 for Parents: Virtual lunch time session
- 7pm-8pm - Financial Aid 101 for Parents in person at SLPHS
Camp is FREE to all SLP seniors, registration is to save your spot and ensure the appropriate number of staff are present to provide you the help you need each day you attend.
Students should sign up for the dates of interest to them. Any digital materials will be sent out after camps for those dates students attended or signed up to attend.
